This time it's the Ka-52 'Alligator', a Russian attack helicopter, that was destroyed by the Ukrainian special operations forces.
The information was relayed by several operators of these special operations forces: a drone strike was successfully carried out against a Ka-52 'Alligator'. The Russian craft is believed to have fallen into an ambush, leading to its destruction. All in all, 7 FPV drones executed this coordinated and conclusive strike.
16 million dollars gone up in smoke
On 16 May, the special operations forces posted on social media, followed by a video, stating that the Russian helicopter was patrolling over Ukrainian soil when it was targeted. "The Ka-52 attempted a combat patrol over Ukrainian fields but didn't anticipate the presence of our 'Bombus' tactical drone group.' And concluded: 'We continue our work."
The cost of the Ka-52 'Alligator' is estimated at nearly 16 million dollars. In 2022, the Russians operated around 133 of them, according to the media outlet L’Indépendant.
