Several F-15 jets have been deployed to an airbase jointly operated by the United States and the United Kingdom, located on a strategic island in the Indian Ocean.
The United States has sent at least four F-15 fighter jets to support the military base they manage jointly with the United Kingdom on the largest island of the Chagos Archipelago, a group of islands situated south of India and east of the Seychelles. This move comes amid renewed military tensions in the region.
According to American media, this is a countermeasure that has been approved due to rising tensions in Iran and the armed conflict that has erupted on the border between India and Pakistan. At least four F-15s have been added to the American military assets at Diego Garcia, the strategic island where the secret base is located.
