The Danish Foreign Minister had a "frank conversation" with his Chinese counterpart regarding Beijing's "problematic support" for Russia.
"I had a frank conversation with my Chinese counterpart, specifically to urge China to end its deeply problematic support for Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine and to use its influence with Moscow to end the war," said Lars Løkke Rasmussen, quoted in a press release from his ministry.
"China has a particular responsibility as a permanent member of the Security Council," emphasised Mr. Løkke, adding that the meeting was also an opportunity to discuss Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory coveted by the US administration, and Taiwan.
We can recall the conflict between the two countries, when the Danish military announced last November that it remained near a Chinese vessel immobilised in Danish waters, a few days after the cutting of two fibre optic data telecommunications cables in the Baltic Sea. Strong suspicions were cast on a deliberate act of sabotage by the Chinese vessel.
