The United States organises proximity talks between Ukraine and Russia

US officials will hold separate meetings with Ukrainian and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia on Monday, 24th March.

Washington wants to organise indirect discussions between Ukraine and Russia, said the US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, during an interview with American journalist Glenn Beck.

"This week, we're setting up what we call technical teams in what we term proximity talks in Saudi Arabia," he stated.

According to Mr. Kellogg, this means that both delegations will be present, but will remain in separate rooms.

"This is shuttle diplomacy across the meeting rooms of Riyadh," said Mr. Kellogg. He added that it remains to be seen whether a full ceasefire can be achieved.

"This will be the first step towards ending this war," stated the US Special Envoy.
