The United States will launch a military attack on Iran if the Middle Eastern nation refuses to negotiate its nuclear program, Donald Trump revealed last weekend.
Late last week, the U.S. president warned that "very bad things" would happen if Tehran did not consider dialogue over its nuclear ambitions.
Speaking on Sunday, Trump doubled down on his stance, stating that if the Iranian regime rejected any agreement, "there will be bombings."
"It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before," the president added.
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ruled out direct negotiations with Washington but left the door open for indirect discussions.
Earlier this month, Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, reiterated that all options remained on the table but emphasized that diplomacy was still the preferred course of action.
