US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that there's no military solution to the war in Ukraine, but that the remedy would come from diplomacy.
He added that US President Donald Trump wished to see the conflict end. "There's no military solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This war will not end with a military solution, but with a diplomatic one. The quicker an agreement is reached to end the war, the fewer deaths and less destruction there will be. Ultimately, this is the president's goal,” said Mr Rubio on his arrival at the informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in the Turkish city of Antalya.
For his part, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Thursday that "the ball is now in Russia's court" when it comes to negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine, upon his arrival at this informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
