One of the golfers, Jonathan Marlowe, shared his story with ABC News about a wild and unbelievable experience on the Myrtle Beach golf course in South Carolina.

“We saw an osprey—a type of daytime bird of prey—being chased by two crows while it was carrying something in its beak. It dropped the object right above us,” Marlowe explained. At first, the golfers thought it was a fish… but not just any fish. Suddenly, a baby hammerhead shark, about a foot long, appeared on the golf course.

A first-time sighting

“We’re used to seeing wildlife around here, but a shark on the golf course? That’s a first,” Marlowe said. Unsure if the shark was still alive, they decided not to risk putting it back in the water, which was about 800 meters away. With doubts about the shark’s survival and the risks involved, the golfers chose to leave it where it was.
