This is Putin's chosen one to lead Russia

Putin has spoken about a successor for the first time. He stated that he constantly thinks about a successor and that several candidates would likely be selected.

The topic of Vladimir Putin's succession has been a taboo subject in Russian politics for quite some time.

What would happen if a successor were chosen? First of all, it would mean a massive redistribution of assets. A new group of people or families would emerge as the new elite.

Currently, the Patrushev-Chemizov tandem remains the most powerful, even though Patrushev has lost his status as supervisor of the security services.

But Putin's favourite and chosen one is Kirill Dmitriev, whose wife is a friend of Putin's daughter. He thus represents the interests of the "Family", the pressure group around Katerina Tikhonova, Putin's daughter, whose clan seeks to secure its future in post-Putin Russia.
