We all know – and sometimes suffer through – those long-winded voice notes from a friend who recounts every moment of their day. But a gentler new trend is on the rise: uplifting voice messages between loved ones.
What’s the idea? Rather than using voice messages to recount your life in minute detail, the idea is to send a supportive message, an encouragement, or a few comforting words—a voice message hug. Just a short, positive thought or simply your kindest voice saying “Close your eyes, breathe in, everything will be alright”. No need for fancy speeches, just a raw, spontaneous, short and sincere message for someone you care about.
A few seconds that could become a real lifeline for a friend drowning in an overwhelming day. And in turn, you might receive one yourself, tucked between more mundane messages. Rather like a little audio good luck charm, to keep safe and listen to in between tough meetings.
Is this a new habit we should adopt? Give it a try! Who knows, maybe even your overly talkative friend will realise that sometimes, less is more.
