Trump's envoy, Keith Kellogg has assured that a complete ceasefire, on land, at sea, in the air, and within infrastructures, will initiate "the process of ending the most significant and longest war Europe has witnessed since World War II".

After initial hesitations, even threatening Ukraine with stopping its arms deliveries, Mr. Trump now seems to be drawing closer to the invaded country and distancing himself from the Kremlin.

Friedrich Merz, the new German chancellor stated that "Trump is clearly losing patience with Putin". These statements add to what was recently revealed by the Wall Street Journal, which reported that Trump admitted during a meeting with businessmen that the main obstacle to reaching a peace agreement was Putin's attitude.

On May 11, Vladimir Putin rejected the ceasefire proposal, but he offered to resume the negotiations that began in 2022 in Istanbul, but only after May 15. Zelensky agreed to travel to Turkey this Thursday "personally."
The American President also announced that he will likely be in Turkey as well, a way for Trump to put pressure on Putin, whose presence this Thursday in Turkey is doubted by political experts.
