The Qatari royal family is preparing to deliver an extraordinary gift to the American president: the Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet.

According to some American media, the aircraft must first be transferred to the United States Air Force for work. It will then be sent to Donald Trump, serving as the presidential plane until the end of his second term.

The luxury plane, once in the hands of the American president, will become the new Air Force One, according to information from ABCNews, which highlighted that this gift could be the most valuable ever offered to Washington by a foreign government.

The "Flying Palace"

It's expected that the information will be made official during Trump's trip to Qatar this week. "Trump visited the aircraft, so richly configured that it's known as the 'Flying Palace', while it was stationed at West Palm Beach International Airport in February," notes ABCNews, though it adds that the machine will be the president's property until he leaves the Oval Office in 2029, after which it will be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation. However, he will still be able to use it as a citizen.

According to aerospace industry experts, the value of the aircraft (13 years old) is estimated at around 400 million dollars (approximately 355 million euros), not counting the security and communication equipment that the Air Force will have to add, states the media The Independent.

"Boeing's most recent estimated delivery date is now 2027, but Trump has made it clear that he wants a new aircraft this year," states The New York Times.
