On Monday, March 17, the resident of the White House announced that all preventive pardons granted by Joe Biden to officials or elected representatives were "null, void and without effect".

Joe Biden, just a few hours before handing over power, had granted a series of preventive pardons to numerous Republican targets. Biden handed out the pardons in order to protect them from "unjustified and politically motivated legal proceedings". General Mark Milley, former chief of staff, Dr Anthony Fauci, who had built Washington's Covid-19 strategy, and all the officials and elected representatives who participated in an investigative commission on the Capitol assault on January 6, 2021, received protection from Trump's predecessor, according to the media outlet Franceinfo

But…

The American president announced on his platform Truth Social that “these political thugs” were, in fact, not protected. "The 'pardons' that Sleepy Joe Biden granted to the unelected commission of political thugs, and to many others, are hereby declared null, void and without effect". Furthermore, he accuses the members of the commission on the Capitol assault of having, unbeknownst to Biden, been responsible for their own pardons, adding that they were all "subject to investigation at the highest level".

Although Donald Trump presented no evidence of these allegations, he insisted that these pardons had been made with an "automatic pen", referring to the meme he had posted on his platform depicting the signature of his Democratic predecessor that was made using a mechanical arm equipped with a pen, clarifies Franceinfo. A meme suggesting that it wasn't Biden signing his decisions.

The Republican billionaire promised he would get revenge on his political opponents, people "very, very guilty of very serious crimes".
