Trump wants to take advantage of his trip to Rome to speak with other leaders about Ukraine and tariffs.
The American president Donald Trump said on Thursday that he wants to take advantage of his trip to Rome, where he will attend the funeral of Pope Francis, to speak with other international leaders about trade, tariffs, and the war in Ukraine.
"I'd like to see them all. It would be great. I'd like to see them all, even though there are many of them and they all want to meet. And they want to meet to talk about trade," he said in the Oval Office of the White House, alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The American Republican leader will travel to the Italian capital accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump. The funeral will take place on Saturday, attended by Argentine President Javier Milei, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and other European and global representatives will also be present.
