The residents of the Russian capital are gradually beginning to feel the consequences of the war that Putin started against Ukraine.

Moscow remained untouched for a long time, but Ukrainian attacks are now getting closer to Moscow. The residents of the Russian border regions applaud this. Residents of border regions such as Belgorod and Bryansk, which are regularly shelled by the Ukrainians, welcome these recent drone attacks on Moscow as they see it as justice: 'the residents of the capital will finally experience the threat they face daily'. This is evident from intercepted phone calls of the residents of Belgorod and Bryansk between 29 and 31 March, which were communicated by the Ukrainian military intelligence service (HUR), as reported by The Kyiv Independent. “They should have hit Moscow immediately, then they might have taken action”, it sounded on 30 March. “Otherwise, only ordinary people suffer, while in Moscow everyone keeps partying and singing.”

The phone conversations could not yet be independently verified.

Moreover, on 11 March, Ukraine carried out the largest drone attack on Moscow since the beginning of the large-scale war. That morning, 74 drones were shot down before they reached the Russian capital.

The Ukrainian arsenal is soon to receive a significant boost following the recent announcement that a new drone with the longest range so far, 3,000 kilometres, has been successfully tested. Does this mean that Moscow will have a hard time?
