The Ukrainian navy sounds the alarm: beware of the increased presence of Russian ships in European waters.
In recent days, significant traffic of ships serving Moscow's interest has been observed in the Kerch Strait (between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov). According to the Ukrainian navy, several Russian vessels have also reappeared in the Black Sea "after a long hiatus". And these are not just any ships, as two vessels carrying Kalibr missiles were recently identified. These are capable of launching up to 8 missiles in a full salvo, as specified by the Ukrainian news agency.
Increasing Russian Presence
In the Mediterranean this time, the Ukrainian navy has spotted 4 Russian ships. Three of them are equipped with Kalibr missiles and have a capacity of 26 missiles, which can reach between 300 to 2,600 kilometres depending on the versions, as specified by the publication L’Indépendant.
At the beginning of the year 2025, two missile carriers were spotted in the Mediterranean. Russia thus seems to be increasing its presence in the Mediterranean waters.
