Ukraine's negotiation man won't be Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky officially appointed members of a delegation for potential peace negotiations on Saturday, which will be led by the head of the presidential office, Andri Yermak.

Andri Yermak, who has the full trust of his president, appears as the key negotiator. A lawyer and former film producer, many experts believe that peace rests on his negotiation talent. He will be accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Andri Sibiga, the Defence Minister, Rustem Umerov, and the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Pavlo Palisa.

The composition of the team that met with an American delegation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last Tuesday remains unchanged, but its role has been formalised in the presidential decree published on Saturday, outlining its objective: "to interact with Ukraine's international partners within a negotiation process aimed at achieving a just peace."
