Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has claimed that Russia is nearing collapse and could soon be forced to end the war, which has dragged on for more than three years.
Speaking to ABC News, Zelenskyy expressed optimism that Ukrainian sabotage operations inside Russian territory combined with sustained Western military support are pushing the Kremlin to the brink.
"Honestly, we've come very close to the moment when it's possible to force Russia to end the war — at least to stop it. We've come very close to that. We feel it. Our operations inside their territory — even though they’re furious — like Operation Spiderweb — even though they're angry, they understand what’s happening," the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelenskyy also criticized the Trump administration for canceling the delivery of badly needed anti-drone missiles, which Ukraine had been counting on to defend against waves of Russian aerial attacks.
"So now we will develop this direction on our own. And the Russians understand — if we go further down this path, it's not because we want the war to continue. But if this is the only option, we will keep fighting for our survival," he added.
