"US Secretary of State Rubio to attend Russian Victory Day" (Zvezda)

According to the Russian state broadcaster 'Zvezda', US Secretary of State Marco Rubio might be a guest at the Russian Victory Day next week.

On May 9, Russia commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in 1945. This victory came at the cost of 27 million Russian lives. Every year, on May 9, a massive military parade is held in Moscow, and according to the state broadcaster Zvezda, which is linked to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will attend this celebration this year. Zvezda cites an anonymous diplomatic source.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last month that his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will be 'the main guest' of the event. "We look forward to welcoming him in Russia for the eightieth anniversary of the victory," it said.
