Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his desire to know the details of Tuesday’s phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
The two leaders spoke for nearly two hours about a possible ceasefire in Ukraine, with the Russian president agreeing not to target the country’s energy infrastructure for 30 days.
Following this development, the Ukrainian president did not hide his skepticism during a press conference, though he acknowledged that a partial ceasefire was a "positive outcome."
"We need to understand what the conversation is about. What are the details? And hopefully, we will be fully informed, and our partners will discuss everything with us," he said, according to Associated Press.
"There are two sides in this war: Russia and Ukraine. Trying to negotiate without Ukraine, in my view, will not be productive," he added.
After the call, Trump praised his conversation with Putin on Truth Social, stating that the next step was a total ceasefire before moving toward peace.
