War declared between Brazil and Argentina

Brazilian player Raphinha made provocative and excessive remarks against the Argentine team during an interview with Romario a few hours before the match between the two teams.

"We will thrash them, on and off the pitch if necessary," the Barcelona player declared on Romario's Youtube channel. The statement is sure to heat up an already explosive match between the two rivals. Argentina hosts Brazil in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, a qualifying phase that reigning world champions Argentina has started well, while Brazil must still fight if they want to avoid any scares.

A victory would be very important for Brazil, who haven't managed to beat Argentina in their direct encounters over the past six years, a series that even extends to 16 years when considering direct encounters held on Argentine soil.

But on Romario TV, Raphinha is convinced otherwise: "I will score! Let them go f... themselves!"
