The singer made her voice heard. And this time, it wasn't her artist's microphone that she brandished, but her motherly energy which she shared with the world, and particularly with the sovereign pontiff.

On social media, Madonna sent a poignant message to Pope Leo XIV, calling on him to visit Gaza. According to the queen of pop, he's "the only one among us who cannot be denied entry."

Madonna's moving message

"Politics cannot affect change.

Only conscience can. Therefore, I am speaking to a man of God.

Today is my son Rocco's birthday.

I believe the best gift I can give him as a mother is to ask everyone to do what they can to help save the innocent children caught in the crossfire in Gaza.

I'm not pointing fingers, blaming, or taking sides. Everyone is suffering. Including the mothers of the hostages. I pray for their release too.

I'm simply trying to do what I can to prevent these children from starving to death.
