Beijing considers reinforcing its military support to Moscow.
Chinese officials declared on Thursday that they're ready to expand their "cooperation" with the Russian army, shortly after Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow during the Victory Day celebrations.
The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defence, Jiang Bin, stated that the bilateral relations between the two countries had "advanced and are now at a high level".
"The Chinese military is ready to work with the Russian side to deepen mutual strategic trust, improve strategic communication and enhance cooperation," he said, emphasising that this "will enrich the strategic partnership between China and Russia for a new era."
In this regard, he assured that it would also contribute to the "maintenance and strengthening of global strategic stability".
